December 9, 2011
In early December, it's easy to fall into the power shopping mode, running from toy store to clothing store to department sore, checking off gifts on your to-buy list one at a time. But what about your home? Is he/she on your list? (Does your home have a gender? No? Oh, must just be me then. Anyway...) Christmas is the perfect time to give your home, and in turn everyone who lives there, a gift as well. Don't you think Santa would enjoy his eggnog and cookies a lot more if they were placed on a fun garden stool, or the ottoman you've been eying?

It might be the perfect way to treat yourself after all that crowd-fighting and holiday shopping. And speaking of gifts, we are loving burlap used as wrapping paper, shown in the pictures below, courtesy of Southern Living. We even have red and green burlap on the bolt!

How are you wrapping your gifts this year? Butcher paper and twine? Burlap and brown ribbon? Or traditional wrapping paper and bows? (Anyone else have to give up using all types of ribbons, strings and bows due to felines?)
We at GDC wish you the happiest of holidays! May your time with family be joyful, and all your pain champagne.
